As a Primary Support Professional (Residential), you'll work in the homes of people receiving residential services, collaborating with the Program Coordinator to ensure the satisfactory implementation of the Individual Support Plan (ISP). You'll provide support services to clients and coordinate their day-to-day activities as outlined within the ISP. Our ideal candidate is passionate about supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has relevant experience, and strong communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in the homes of clients receiving residential services, collaborating with the Program Coordinator

  • Ensure satisfactory implementation of the Individual Support Plan (ISP)

  • Provide support services to clients and coordinate day-to-day activities as outlined in the ISP

  • Train staff on clients' medical needs, personal preferences, and compliance

  • Ensure staff knowledge of client medications and potential side effects

  • Oversee daily residential notes, goals, and health tracking

  • Review physical condition of homes to ensure health, safety, and cleanliness standards

  • Ensure safety kits are present and complete

  • Review medication administration records (MARS) for errors and signatures

  • Complete event reports in accordance with state guidelines

  • Schedule staff or cover shifts for absent personnel

  • Track mileage used in homes to stay within budget

  • Participate in the development of positive behavioral support plans

  • Ensure receipts and money counts are maintained for client purchases

  • Collaborate with Program Coordinator on follow-up tasks

  • Ensure safety drills are conducted according to Individual Safety Plans

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • One year of experience in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities, or successful completion of Missouri Quality Outcomes training approved by the Division of DD regional office

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, using person-centered language

  • Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions

  • Problem-solving skills for situations with multiple variables

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)

  • Reliable means of communication

  • Skills to read, understand written materials, and write clearly and legibly
