Responsibilities You will assist in operating plants and equipment by opening/closing valves, starting/stopping pumps, hauling catalyst, changing catalyst, and backwashing filters, etc. You will assist in operating emergency generator equipment and motors. You will disassemble, clean and reassemble pumps and other equipment as directed. You will take periodic readings of various meters, gauges and amount of water treated. You will take samples for test run of alkalinity, pH, hardness, turbidity, and chlorine. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision: Following an established schedule of checking gauges/equipment and recording readings; and assisting in preventative maintenance such as oiling, greasing cleaning, and replacement of gaskets/packing.
