Job Summary:
We are seeking a respectful, reliable, highly dedicated and detailed oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support to physicians and healthcare providers, ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. Your responsibility will include performing clinical tasks such as taking patients histories, assisting with examinations, and administering medication as directed. Additionally, you will manage administrative duties including scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and handling billing and insurance processing.
The ideal candidate will process excellent communication skills, a compassionate demeanor, and a strong commitment to patient care. Prior experience in a medical setting and certification from an accredited medical assistant program are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with patient assessments and vital signs.
Support healthcare providers during examinations.
Perform basic diagnostic procedures (e.g., EKGs, blood draws).
Manage and organize medical equipment and supplies.
Educate patients and provide post-care instructions.
Maintain accurate patient records; EHR records entry.
Collaborate with the healthcare team for efficient care.
Administrative; schedule patients, maintain files, faxes, referrals, answer phones, call in prescriptions, keeping records or medical supplies, provide exceptional customer service to patients and families.
Qualifications:
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) preferred.
Experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
Working Conditions:
Work in a clinical environment, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, OSHA standards, and effective communication with staff. Handle laboratory tests and reports as per orders.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program is necessary.
Experience:
Preferred: at least one year in a physician practice. Phlebotomy
Certification/License:
Medical Assistant CPR certifications are required.
