Nuclear Fuel Services Supervisor, Document Control & Quality Records in Cambridge, Ontario

We are currently recruiting for a Document Control & Quality Records Supervisor for our facility in Cambridge, Ontario.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Document Control & Quality Records Supervisor to lead the Document Control and Quality Records departments of the Components business of BWXT Canada. The purpose of this role is to ensure critical documentation for nuclear projects and sales orders are accurately controlled, processed and distributed to internal departments, customers and suppliers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and oversee the Document Control and Quality Records teams to ensure seamless document flow and accurate History Dockets preparation, meeting all necessary requirements and deadlines.

  • Efficiently manage various tasks, schedules, and resources, showcasing exceptional organizational skills.

  • Prioritize assignments effectively, allocate resources appropriately, and track progress to achieve set targets.

  • Demonstrate and uphold high ethical standards, serving as a role model for the team, ensuring full compliance with company policies and ethics.

  • Proactively anticipate project needs, develop detailed schedules, allocate resources in collaboration with key stakeholders, and establish clear expectations for the team.

  • Maintain regular communication with the team regarding project goals, timelines, and responsibilities, ensuring clarity and alignment.

  • Take full responsibility for Document Control & Quality Records activities, holding team members accountable for their tasks and outcomes.

  • Conduct thorough reviews of documentation and records to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Address challenges promptly by identifying issues, analyzing causes, and collaborating with the team to find efficient solutions, escalating when necessary.

  • Assess risks associated with Document Control & Quality Records activities, develop contingency plans, and adapt to changes to keep the team on track for success.

  • Foster strong relationships with other departments to collectively address challenges and find solutions.

  • Provide comprehensive training and coaching to support team members in their professional growth, encouraging them to diversify their skill set and excel in various areas.

  • Oversee the annual performance review process, guiding employees to set and achieve targets, and offering ongoing mentorship and coaching to enhance their performance.

  • Efficiently manage timesheets, vacation requests, and staff scheduling to ensure seamless project coverage, while prioritizing the well-being and productivity of the team.

  • Take charge of employee relations, from recruitment to training and development, fostering a positive work environment through effective leadership and guidance.

  • Uphold high standards of training and qualification for all employees, ensuring they are equipped to handle their responsibilities competently and safely

What We're Looking For:

• Post secondary education in Administration, Business or related program. • 7+ years experience working in document control or records management in a manufacturing environment. • 3+ years experience working in Supervisory or Lead capacity. • Experience working in the nuclear, defense or aerospace industry an asset • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and Access abilities • Experience using SAP and Kiteworks an asset. • Electronic document management systems (Windchill) is an asset. • Inspiring leader who can motivate and guide their team to meet project and daily targets. • Ability to communicate, motivate and lead teams in the pursuit of optimal resolutions to problems. • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a focus on continuous improvement. • Strong communication and problem-solving skills to lead within a team-based environment.

The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[78,000]] and $[[121,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
