Surgical Tech - Surgery
St. John's Hospital Camarillo
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technician to join our dynamic surgical team. As a Surgical Tech , you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional patient care by assisting surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. The ideal candidate should possess advanced knowledge and expertise in surgical techniques, instrumentation, and equipment.

Responsibilities
Prepare operating rooms with surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and maintain a sterile environment
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure proper patient positioning and safety
Supervise and mentor junior surgical techs and students
Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, supplies, and equipment
Qualifications
A minimum of two (2) years recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist in all surgical specialties.
Proficient knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures
Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Leadership abilities and experience in mentoring junior staff
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining a sterile field
Proficiency in ability to scrub ophthalmology procedures and total joint procedures OR proficiency in ability to scrub Cardiac procedures.
Ability to assume on-call status as determined by department manager and according to department needs.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
AHA BLS required
This position is represented by SEIU Local UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Pay Range
$32.15 - $40.17 /hour
