Noble County Environmental Health Specialist in Caldwell, Ohio
Essential Functions of the Position:
Full-time position will include working in the Environmental Health Program as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) or training as an Environmental Health Specialist in Training (EHSIT). The areas of work will focus on Food Safety, Sewage, Drinking Water, Public Swimming Pools, Body Art / Piercing, and Campgrounds, performing inspections and enforcement of all Ohio mandated environmental health programs, collecting water samples for bacterial analysis, investigating animal bites for rabies control, and investigating public health nuisance complaints. Position requires extensive report writing. Work will include additional out-of-county travel, training and certification as determined by the Health Department and the State of Ohio.
Applicants must possess excellent communication (verbal/written), organization, and computer skills with minimum qualifications of a required valid Ohio driver's license, a vehicle for required travel, and proof of current vehicular liability coverage. Must be a REHS ([preferred]{.underline}), current EHSIT, or eligible for EHSIT status with a Bachelor of Science degree including a minimum of 30 semester hours of Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, Math, or Statistics approved by the Director of the Ohio Department of Health.
