Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to join our team. The HSE Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role is critical in maintaining a safe workplace, promoting environmental sustainability, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 Provide battery plant start up assistance by utilizing cross functional experience to drive process, system, and procedure development. Provide technical guidance and hands-on support for all aspects of HSE policies & procedures in a battery manufacturing environment. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE policies, procedures, and programs from scratch to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks. Conceptualize, Implement and Maintain the entire HSE program for the company. Work with Chinese partner to understand all environmental, potential hazardous materials and safety influences from processes Amplify Cell Technologies will be implementing. Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive waste management, disposal, and recycling program as it pertains to a battery cell manufacturing facility. Work with manufacturing teams to ensure newly designed equipment meet all HSE guidelines. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation to prevent recurrence. Oversee environmental compliance activities, including waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to integrate HSE considerations into the design and operation of manufacturing processes. Manage and deliver HSE training programs to employees, ensuring awareness and understanding of safety and environmental protocols. Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics, prepare reports and presenting findings to senior management. Coordinate emergency response planning and drills, ensuring preparedness for potential incidents. Liaise with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and other stakeholders to stay informed of regulatory changes and best practices. Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.

 

Requirements

: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health, safety, and environmental role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the battery, chemical or automotive industry. In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant agencies. Start-up experience highly desired. Proven experience in developing and implementing HSE programs and policies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough investigations and risk assessments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and engage employees at all levels. Certification in HSE management (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management software. Chinese Language a plus.
