Description

We are in the process of recruiting a Staff Accountant for our local government team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be crucial in managing and maintaining financial records, processing entries, and performing reconciliations. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity where you will be handling various accounting tasks, including month-end close, ad hoc projects, and general ledger accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor financial records to ensure accuracy

• Execute month-end close processes efficiently

• Perform reconciliations and maintain their records

• Process and record journal entries in a timely manner

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis

• Work on ad hoc projects related to accounting as required

• Utilize Springbrook software for various accounting tasks

• Ensure all general ledger accounting tasks are performed accurately

• Resolve any accounting discrepancies and irregularities

• Implement and maintain financial policies and procedures.

Requirements • Proficiency in Springbrook software application is essential

• Experience with reconciliations is required

• Strong competency in Microsoft Excel is necessary

• Proven ability to handle journal entries is a must
