Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Burlingame, California

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Burlingame, California. This role falls within the Admin/Finance department of our telecom provider company. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for processing invoices, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and maintaining accurate records of accounts payable transactions. This is a contract to hire role and 5 days onsite - Apply today!

Responsibilities:

• Accurately receive and process all invoices from vendors.

• Verify the accuracy of invoices, ensure they are coded correctly, and approved for payment.

• Ensure invoices are matched with purchase orders and receiving documents to confirm proper authorization and receipt of goods or services.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues with invoices, purchase orders, or payments.

• Assist with check runs or electronic payments as needed/requested.

• Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on any past due balances or discrepancies.

• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.

• Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and resolve payment-related issues.

• Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as accounting regulations and best practices.

• Assist with special projects or other duties assigned by management.

• Utilize skills such as Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Check Runs, Coding Invoices, Data Entry, Invoice Processing, Microsoft Excel, and QuickBooks.

Requirements • Minimum of 1 year experience in an accounts payable role or similar

• Proficient in account reconciliation, ensuring accurate financial records

• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and managing vendor accounts

• Ability to perform check runs to ensure timely and accurate payment

• Experience in coding invoices, categorizing costs for financial recording

• Proficient in data entry, ensuring high accuracy and speed

• Experience in invoice processing, ensuring all bills are paid in a timely manner

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, for managing and analyzing data

• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is required

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High school diploma or equivalent required, further education in finance or related field is a plus.
