SUMMARY:

Responsible for prescription filling tasks and other duties required in pharmacy. This position is to work as needed in all of Family Health Services Pharmacies. Candidate will be based in the Buhl pharmacy, and will be expected to work at least once a month in order to keep your PRN status. Mileage Reimbursement available if working at pharmacy outside your base clinic.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma/GED. Must have or be able to obtain an Idaho State Pharmacy Technician Registration in good standing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Specific Pharmacy Technician knowledge and training.
  • Computer skills include ability to use Pharmacy Management software, and Microsoft software products.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and through written (electronic) correspondence.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  1. Accurate prescription order management.
  2. Interact with patients, other pharmacy staff members, outside entities, and insurance companies in a polite and professional manner.
  3. Input patient information into the Pharmacy Management software accurately, including demographics, insurance, allergies, and other Protected Health Information.
  4. Prepare prescriptions as needed, including reconstituting medications, assure the correct national drug code (NDC) is used, and the accurate label with medication and patient information attached to the prescription.
  5. Process prescriptions at point of sale. Ensure the right prescription is sold to the correct patient.
  6. Manage inventory as appropriate.
  7. Understand and adheres to all rules and regulations under 340B, Medicare and Medicaid, and all other applicable regulating agencies.
  8. Manage patient inquiries in a professional manner, including pricing requests, questions about hours of operations, and refill requests.
  9. Interact well with medical offices to access accurate information about prescription information.
  10. Travel to various pharmacy locations and rotates shifts as needed for coverage, including Saturday shifts.
  11. Prepare daily reports as assigned.
  12. Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
