Overview

The Applications Administrator-Senior is responsible for providing technical support to a variety of business and IT users and their applications. The Applications Administrator-Senior will be accountable for the monitoring and maintaining application of systems to ensure system availability to the IT, business community and our customers. Communicates and interacts with all levels of the organization.

Associate may, from time to time, be required to work from home and, as such, will be required to comply with Independent Health security and privacy policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; an additional four (4) years of experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of vendor applications may be considered in lieu of degree. Certifications in server administration, operating systems, network, or application administration preferred.

  • Five (5) years of experience in server/application administration required.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of application design principles and application architecture.

  • Proven ability to navigate and work on multiple operating systems such as Windows and Unix-Linux.

  • Experience in programming languages and tools such as SQL, Java, .Net, WSDL, Pearl, Unix/Linux shell scripting.

  • Advanced user level experience in MS Office suite, including Visio and Project.

  • Ability to install third party software and configure vendor systems while following established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

  • Proven ability in troubleshooting, support skills and escalation.

  • Ability to work within a team and self-directed when required.

  • Ability to lead and manage medium to large projects including creation of project and implementation plans.

  • Ability to effectively communicate at a professional level with all levels of the organization.

  • Initiates self-directed learning opportunities, identifies applicability, and demonstrates use of the acquired skills.

  • Ability to work outside of core business hours which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Accountabilities

  • Monitor and respond to business user service requests in support of their applications.

  • Conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

  • Maintain applications by scheduling installations of upgrades and patches in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Deploy change requests while enforcing migration, versioning, and code standards by following change control procedures for all environments.

  • Work with ESA team members and project teams to install, test and implement new systems and applications in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Develop automated server maintenance, backup and refresh, and deployment processes to replace current manual processes.

  • Develop and implement application and server monitoring and alerting with written documentation outlining monitoring requirements designed to identify root cause.

  • Develop written documentation to support the applications configuration and installation, business continuity and disaster recovery processes.

  • Review of system and application logs to ensure stability of the application environments.

  • Participate in On-Call rotation and maintenance weekends as scheduled; provide support to other team members as needed.

  • Provide weekly goals and accomplishments to manager.

  • Provide mentoring to team members.

  • Associate may, from time to time, be required to work from home and, as such, will be required to comply with Independent Health security and privacy policies.

Hiring Compensation Range: $95,000 - $105,000 annually

Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience.

In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
