What we want
The Associate Research Scientist is responsible for designing, implementing, and analyzing research programs and processes within the Telehealth Institute. This includes pursuing an independent research agenda, as well as assistance in funded Telehealth Institute projects; mentors and/or oversees TAMU students in program evaluation and dissemination of findings.

Location: This position is located in Bryan, Texas, and may travel periodically for project data collection, partner meetings, and professional conferences.
Required Education and Experience
Doctoral degree in applicable field
Three years of related experience in research and/or project management
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in program management and/or evaluation of grant funded telehealth service delivery programs
Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Systems
Knowledge of community health principles
Data management skills
Data analytic skills (quantitative and qualitative)
Comfortable with conducting trainings and presentations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work cooperatively with others
Knowledge of telehealth principles and/or service delivery
Ability to pursue telehealth focused research (ex. direct services, telehealth environment, remote patient monitoring, training or workforce development, policy, etc.)
Knowledge of program evaluation principles
Ability to multi-task; Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
Strong writing skills (grant applications, technical reports, and peer reviewed publications)
Ability to communicate effectively with community and healthcare stakeholders
Willingness to learn new skills and disciplines
Ability to work independently
Responsibilities
Research: Independently performs research and evaluation, including selection and application of standard and custom research techniques. Contributes to the overall conceptualization of data collection planning for the Telehealth Institute. Contributes to management of overall Telehealth Institute data. Identifies, writes, and leads new funding proposals that support the goals of the Telehealth Institute. Mentors research personnel on research processes and skill development. Develops data collection tools. Conducts data collection (qualitative and quantitative). Analyzes qualitative and quantitative data. Evaluates and summarizes results.
Project Management: Manages day to day tasks of grant funded projects. Communicates with project partners and funders. Coordinates within project teams and research staff. Manages patient health data and/or human subjects research data. Develops and manages IRB protocols. Delivers research trainings and/or presentations. Develops funder reports. Travels for project-related work.
Scholarly Writing and Dissemination: Initiates and leads first author publications—at least 2 per year. Collaborates on the conceptual development and writing of joint manuscripts. Coordinates submission of peer reviewed presentations and publications.
