Position: Construction Safety Director Reports to: VP of Operations Location: Brookings SD Hourly Range: $20 - $25/hour Schedule: 32 hours per week with flexibility within Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM - 5PM time frame. Mills Construction Inc. MCI) is accepting applications for a Safety Director to join our team at our Brookings SD office. This position will maintain safe conditions for people and property, investigate and prevent accidents, analyze risks, and handle emergency response. All jobsites are within 75 miles of Brookings, South Dakota. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct jobsite safety audits, enforcing OSHA and MCI safety protocols and rules on jobsites.
- Maintain safety supply and equipment inventory.
- Schedule, plan, prepare, and conduct quarterly safety meetings with company safety committee.
- Conduct inspections of fall protection equipment, hard hats, lifts, and rigging gear.
- Conduct or coordinate various jobsite training for team members and ensure that all training records are logged and maintained.
- Investigate and document all injuries, incidents, and near misses; identify the root cause(s); and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate across the jobsite with the Superintendent and the crew team members as well as Subcontractors and other trade partners.

Your Expertise

- Preferred: Youve completed an OSHA 30-hour course
- Bonus points if you have hands-on experience within the commercial construction industry
