Job Title: Security AnalystJob Description
This remote role supports a leading technology and product development company with over 200 products that require security assessments. The products vary in complexity, with some containing simple motor controls and others featuring advanced technologies such as USB-C ports, Bluetooth, WiFi, cloud connectivity, IoT technology, MCUs, and chips. The main objective is to identify potential security concerns in these products and share findings with the Product teams. This is a 12+ month, full-time consulting role that could lead to permanent employment within embedded systems and cybersecurity.
Responsibilities
Lead security assessments of products to determine risks.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Product Security program initiatives and serve as a subject matter expert for select security initiatives.
Drive processes and education to understand security requirements.
Develop standards and procedures for security processes.
Be proactive in analyzing and remediating security incidents and/or security risks.
Establish partnerships and rapport with business, IT, and security teams to communicate remediation prioritization, timelines, and updates.
Create reports and give presentations to technical audiences.
Participate in the analysis and remediation of security risks and incidents.
Essential Skills
Firmware engineering experience.
Cybersecurity expertise.
Experience with IoT technology, chips, and MCUs.
Ability to assess security risks of physical products.
Strong communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with assessing security risk of IoT, chips, and MCUs.
Ability to communicate well across teams.
Work Environment
This is a remote position. The role involves investigating and assessing the security risks of a wide range of products, from simple motor controls to advanced IoT devices. The work requires regular communication and collaboration with product teams, IT, and security teams. The position offers the potential for long-term engagement and growth within the field of embedded systems and cybersecurity.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
