The Financial Case Manager is responsible, in partnership with the Administrator, for all resident related financial management processes in the facility. The Financial Case Manager is responsible to provide all necessary information to applicants, referral sources and families , required to make an informed decision regarding facility admission and educate applicants on the financial policy for full comprehension of payment expectations. The primary responsibility of the F inancial C ase M anager is to ensure residents understand their financial entitlements, collect payments, and monitor and collect outstanding balances. Responsibilities include oversight of resident’s finance and assurance that The W Group meets federal, state, and local financial reporting obligations.

Position Qualifications :

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and one year of full-time experience in the provision of services to a dependent adult population; or.

  • An associate’s degree from an accredited college and three years of full-time experience in the provision of services to a dependent adult population.

    Position Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of DOH regulations as they pertain to a ssisted living billing processes.

  • Possess excellent assessment and documentation skills.

  • Effectively and appropriately communicate with employees, residents, caregivers, family, and medical and community affiliates to develop and maintain positive relationships.

  • Poses a high level of knowledge regarding SS/SSI/SSP benefits, coordination of benefits, insurance verification and Medicaid eligibility.

  • Working knowledge of PNA/PA NYS DOH regulatory standards.

  • Prior experience maintaining financial records and reconciling accounts.

    Position Responsibilities :

  • Ensure resident are assisted in making applications for and maintaining health and other necessary benefits.

  • Assisting residents in applying for and maintain income entitlements including SSI, SSP and SSA benefits.

  • Ensure Distribution of residents funds-PNA/PA in compliance with NYS DOH regulations.

  • Ensure timely collection of room and Board payments and maintain all benefits are in good standing at all times.

  • Maintain resident ledgers on a month to month.

  • Assist residents in budgeting as needed.

  • Communicate with SSA representative to coordinate resident benefits.

  • Coordinate with resident to address any financial related issues as appropriate.

  • Track and record accounting transactions for all representative payees.

  • Work collaboratively with the billing department, case management and any other. necessary departments to ensure there is complete related to resident’s financial status.
