Job Description

We are seeking an innovative Scientist III - Data Scientist to join our Advanced Technology Team in BRNO, Czech Republic! In this role, we are excited for you to build artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) models to better understand complicated spectroscopic datasets to simplify the operation of spectrometers deployed for bulk elemental analysis.

Responsibilities:

This data scientist role applies innovative data analysis methods, such as AI/ML, to analyze and interpret intricate data sets within optical emission (OES) and x-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy and x-ray diffraction (XRD). This job also includes development and implementation of predictive models and algorithms for OES, XRF, and XRD data. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define research objectives, design experiments, and collect invaluable data. We need your help visualizing large datasets to convey sophisticated findings and recommendations to collaborators. This data scientist will share and prepare comprehensive technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate research outcomes. Finally, you will stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML, and integrate these advancements into your work.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.

  • Shown experience in application of large dataset analysis in the realm of spectroscopy.

  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify patterns and trends in spectroscopic datasets.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and distributed computing frameworks.

  • Knowledge of AI and ML techniques in spectroscopy and bulk elemental systems such as metal allows and concrete.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure.

  • Expertise in data preprocessing techniques, feature engineering, and data augmentation.

  • Proven understanding of statistical methodologies and their applications in data analysis and modeling.

  • Track record of publishing scientific papers and communicating research findings at conferences.
