The Mount Abraham Unified School District is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Director of Facilities and Grounds. The Director of Facilities and Grounds is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the school district\'s facilities and grounds, including maintenance, custodial services, safety and security, and capital improvement projects.\ Responsibilities:\ Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities maintenance plan that ensures the safety, functionality, and appearance of all\ school buildings and grounds.\ Oversee the day-to-day operations of the facilities department, including custodial services, maintenance staff, and contractors.\ Coordinate and prioritize maintenance and repair work to minimize disruptions to the educational environment.\ Manage the budget for facilities and grounds maintenance, including developing annual budgets and monitoring expenditures.\ Collaborate with school administrators, staff, and community members to identify and address facilities needs.\ Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.\ Develop and implement energy conservation programs to reduce utility costs and promote sustainability.\ Plan and oversee capital improvement projects, including renovations, repairs, and new construction.\ Supervise and evaluate facilities department staff, providing coaching and professional development opportunities as needed.\ Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment inventory.\ \ Qualifications:\ Bachelor\'s degree in facilities management, engineering, business administration, or a related field; candidates with relevant work\ experience but lacking formal education may be considered.\ Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a school or educational setting.\ Knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.\ Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and supervise staff.\ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\ Ability to manage budgets and financial resources effectively.\ Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy conservation strategies.\ \ Salary Range: \$80,000.00 - \$95,000.00\ \ We offer a comprehensive benefits package to our employees, including health, dental, and life & long term disability insurance; retirement savings plans; paid time off; and professional development opportunities.
