Gastroenterologist: Bridgton and Rumford
Central Maine Medical Center is actively recruiting for a full time Gastroenterologist for our Bridgton and Rumford locations. This position will be split between both Bridgton and Rumford hospitals. Our health system, which consists of a 250-bed facility in Lewiston and Critical Access Hospitals in both Bridgton and Rumford, employs 400+ providers throughout a wide range of medical and surgical services, with 50% being primary care providers.
This position is part of a GI division that currently has 6 gastroenterologists providing upper and lower endoscopy and advanced endoscopic procedures (ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, biliary stenting, etc.). Services at both Bridgton and Rumford Hospital feature a strong hospitalist admitting service and is currently building an inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (APP) service. Back up support is provided by the department of surgery at CMMC and includes general surgery, surgical oncology, and colorectal surgery. This position does not require any overnight call!
Bridgton and Rumford Hospital’s endoscopy procedures are performed in the operating room by a skilled support team including 100% monitored anesthesia for procedures. The OR team currently performs 12 procedures a day. Office visits are conducted in our specialty clinic departments within the hospital.

Ski enthusiasts, in particular, will love this area for its ski slopes –these unique ski slopes, created by the townspeople in the 1930’s, spell the word “LOVE”.
Rumford Region: A beautiful, rural area, the town is located in west-central Maine’s Oxford County and is surrounded by forests, mountains, rivers, and lakes. This area boasts many recreational opportunities for boating, swimming and fishing; and it’s also home to the largest waterfall east of Niagara. The business district of the town is located on “The Island” located between the Androscoggin River and the canals. The Island features restaurants and retail stores along with the local government offices, Post Office and banking institutions.
