Job Summary and Qualifications
The Paramedic responds to medical emergencies and provides advanced critical care during the transport to the hospital. As the first healthcare provider at the scene, the Paramedic partners with firefighters and police in evaluating the situation. The Paramedic offers basic and advanced life-saving support, administers treatments, and directs EMTs in delivering patient care consistent with training and level of certification.
What you will do in this role:
You will provide safe and effective transportation of patients to and from predetermined locations using established laws, policies, and procedures set forth by the State of Tennessee Department of Health, Office of EMS.
You will deliver quality ALS and emergency care to patients requiring procedures in accordance with established Tennessee Department of Health, Office of EMS, scope of practice, and credentialing.
You will act as the team leader during the care of patients requiring transport.
You will work as part of a healthcare team in the emergency department, based on credentialing approved by the hospital, utilizing approved skills/tasks/medications as defined in the advanced paramedic skills and medication list.

You will ensure emergency vehicles and equipment are maintained and in a state of readiness at all times.
You will perform daily duties to maintain a clean and organized environment.

You will assume accountability for promoting consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service.
You will maintain a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
You will support the development and implementation of strategies to elevate the patient experience.

- You will exemplify excellent service behavior to patients, clients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, and vendors, demonstrating courtesy, personalized attention, respect, compassion, and timely responsiveness at all times.

You will participate in regular drills and special events to assure adequate staffing and appropriate training for staff.

What Qualifications You Will Need:
Completion of Accredited Paramedic Training Program is required.
Tennessee Paramedic License is required.
Tennessee Driver's License is required.
BLS certification is required.
ACLS certification is required.
Completion of Tennessee Transport Ventilator Class is required.
