Job Summary:

Within the R&D department of the Camera Product line in Breda, the Software group is responsible for delivering the software needed for user interfaces, network connections and control to the camera product development. Innovation, like making our cameras part of the GV cloud-based AMPP platform, lies at the heart of our activities. This with the goal of improving product competitiveness with reliability as second nature. In a cross-functional project team, you will design, simulate and test the software designs. You will work with up to date development tools, both in a simulation environment as well on the real product.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team with system architects, software, fpga and hardware engineers. This team can either reside on one location, but it can also be a multi-site (global) team.

  • Performing requirements analysis and software design.

  • (Functional) testing of the software design, debugging, and releasing prototypes.

  • Support and collaborate with various other departments (troubleshooting of problems, bug fixing, resolving customer issues et cetera).

  • Maintain design documentation (specifications, test plans, test results et cetera).

  • Perform unit tests and participate in product integration activities.

  • Present designs to peers for review and perform peer reviews.

    Required Professional Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science.

  • Entry level position, new graduate up to 5 years of experience.

  • Experience with object oriented design and C/C++.

  • Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture, including hardware-software interactions, real-time operating systems (RTOS), multi-threaded applications, thread synchronization, and memory management.

  • Knowledge of embedded Linux or Windows based platforms.

  • Knowledge of digital electronics, sensors, and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe)

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols

  • Experience in managing code with version control systems like SVN / Git

  • Experience with issue tracking tools such as JIRA
