In our time of Company growth, we are seeking a Senior Grants Accountant.

Work Location: Bradenton, FL

The Senior Grants Accountant will play a crucial role in managing financial aspects related to grants within MCR Health. They are key figures in managing and optimizing the financial aspects of grants, ensuring that funds are utilized efficiently and by the organizations objectives and donor expectations.

  • Oversee the financial management of grants from inception to closure
  • Ensure compliance with grant regulations, guidelines, and donor requirements
  • Review grant agreements and understand financial reporting and budgeting requirements
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for grants, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Provide detailed analysis of financial performance against budget for grant-funded projects
  • Collaborate with program managers to gather necessary information for reporting
  • Develop and monitor grant budgets in collaboration with program managers and other stakeholders
  • Ensure that budgets align with grant proposals and meet the organization's financial goals
  • Track and analyze budget variances, providing explanations for any discrepancies
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations, grant accounting standards, and donor requirements
  • Ensure that MCR Healths grant accounting practices comply with relevant laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with auditors during grant audits to provide the necessary documentation
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making related to grant-funded projects
  • Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Provide insights to improve the financial efficiency of grant programs
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, program managers, and finance teams
  • Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders

What you need to bring to this role:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in accounting or related field required
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in general accounting required
  • Ability to analyze, apply cost accounting procedures, and utilize statistical information preferred
  • Two (2) years experience in FPandA required
  • Two (2) years of experience in BI Visualization tools and data modeling
  • Auditing experience preferred
  • Experience with accrual-based GAAP accounting and reporting required
  • Experience with General Ledger and Accounts Payable Applications on a computerized system required
  • Ability to utilize computer applications, databases, and word-processing programs preferred
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word preferred
  • Strong Excel skills in financial modeling experience preferred
  • Familiar with Pivots, V-Lookups preferred
  • Great Plains, Management Report Writer Experience a preferred
