Wood County Hospital Nursing Professional Development Practitioner in Bowling Green, Ohio

Wood County Hospital is now accepting applications for a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner.  The Nursing Professional Development Coordinator is responsible for p roviding and assisting in the development of clinical nursing professional development activities including required and elective educational offerings as well as competency assessment and validation .  

Job Duties:

  • Demonstrates practice consistent with the Nursing Professional Development Practice Model to guide roles, responsibilities and performance

  • Coordinates precepting students, clinical rotation schedules, and orientation of instructors and precepting students.

  • Provides feedback to Directors/ Unit supervisors regarding staff competency or incompletion of courses.

  • Collaborates with Department Directors and staff to coordinate, evaluate and educate on new products and equipment.

  • Assesses and identifies education, competency, and professional development learning needs of clinical nursing staff

  • Provides, develops, and/or coordinates appropriate programs to meet the education, competency, and professional development learning needs of clinical nursing staff.

  • Coordinates the transition to practice process for new nursing employees.

  • Assists with coordination and training of new preceptors, and monitoring preceptor competence and effectiveness.

  • Maintains nursing continuing education provider unit and reapplication of Approved Provider Unit.

  • Collaborates and coordinates education utilizing internal and external resources for identified training and education.

  • Coordinates and collaborates with regulatory subject matter experts to develop and assign regulatory education in the Learning Management System to hospital and affiliates staff.  

Shift Details:

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift: Days 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required, MSN preferred.

  • Current licensure to practice professional Nursing in the State of Ohio.

  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required.

  • Minimum of 2 years clinical education experience preferred.

  • Nursing Professional Development certification preferred.
