Responsibilities: Software Development: Design and code software components, units, and modules to meet product specifications and development schedules. Participate in large system and subsystem planning to ensure efficient and effective software development. Testing and Debugging: Test and debug assigned components and units to ensure high-quality software deliverables. Adhere to product build and release schedules and strategies. Technical Leadership: Act as a technical resource for lower-level developers, providing guidance and support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful software development. Technological Expertise: Bring expertise in distributed and cloud technologies, CI/CD, containers, object store, graph databases, and automated testing. Stay abreast of new software build and development technologies. Scientific Software Development: Provide scientific software development support, guiding software developers throughout NCEI. Support scientific projects to ensure optimal utilization of technologies adopted by NCEI. Documentation and SOPs: Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) for the NCEI software development processes. Ensure compliance with established development processes and standards.
