Join Takeda as a Research Senior Associate where you will perform biotherapeutics and antigens characterization to support antibody discovery campaign, lead generation and optimization up to IND. You will also contribute to analytical method development and execution for fit-for-purpose evaluation of biologics and biologics generation and analytics workflow optimization, balancing speed and quality. As part of the Biologics Analytics team, you will report to the Associate Director and work with the Global Biologics organization.
How you will contribute:
Under minimal supervision, independently perform biologics analytical characterizations to enable discovery and advancement of therapeutics including mAb and bispecifics.
Actively participate in analytics workflow, keep accurate ELN documentation and, maintain laboratory instrumentation and supplies.
Identify gaps and provide suggestions for continuous workflow optimization aiming for improved efficiency and quality.
Trouble-shoot non-routine methods, hardware and/or software issues and recommends systems, processes, or changes within scope.
Represent analytics group in research project team, present technical information in department meetings.
Utilize assigned literature to increase knowledge base and implement improvements (e.g. method evaluation and optimization).
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
MS in a scientific discipline (analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry or equivalent) with 1+ years relevant experience, or BS with 3+ years relevant experience.
Hands-on experience with either LC-MS for biotherapeutics characterization (e.g. intact/reduced MW, peptide mapping) and/or binding technique (e.g. Octet and/or SPR) for Ag-Ab interaction analysis.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to details; Capable of managing multiple workstreams at a time; Self-motivated, curious, independent and eager to learn.
Familiarity or general working knowledge on common analytical separation techniques including SEC-UV(-MALS), HIC-UV and/or CE-SDS/icIEF (e.g. Maurice) is a plus.
Familiarity or general working knowledge on common biophysical techniques including DLS and thermal stability (e.g. Uncle or NanoTemper) is a plus.
Experience with structure elucidation MS technique (e.g. HDX-MS) is a plus, but not required.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$84,000.00 - $132,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
