Summary
It is the responsibility of the Lead Warehouse Operations to provide logistics support for general warehouse, fleet, and demand planning operations, which includes managing DOT compliance administration and proficiently using relevant systems and platforms. Maintain communication with upper management as to work status. Observe standard operating procedures for consistent quality standards. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Professionally interacts with customers, team members, and third-party vendor/partner relationships to provide the highest level of customer service.
This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Boston, MA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure DOT compliance with drivers files and equipment
Administer scheduling and tracking of trailer MHAs and manifests
Review shipping requests, prepare them, palletize orders and create bills of lading for them
Manage outbound shipping for freight companies such as UPS, FedEx, and other common carriers
Monitor and track delivery dates, ensure timely delivery of critical shipments going to events
Organize schedule of transportation tasks
Review inbound shipments, reconcile manifest against contents, check for damage, restock items and ensure proper tracking of available inventory using a computer software system
Ensure 100% accuracy on all outbound and inbound freight and manifests, timely delivery, and client satisfaction
Provide reports to the manager upon request.
Must have a friendly telephone demeanor and be comfortable making phone calls to check the status of freight and deal with management
Conduct department functions such as scheduling, training, and assigning work for warehouse team workers
Monitor and enforce safety procedures
Maintain a productive and safe environment for team workers
Communicate to supervisors and managers on daily activities and needs
Contribute to the goal of current and accurate inventory control
Maintain legible and accurate records or logs as required
Monitor performance of team workers within the work group
Manage workload planning
Open and/or closes building as directed on any shift
Monitor and communicate methods of operations and safety
Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
3-5 years events industry, DOT compliance, or warehouse related experience
Travel Requirements
Travel up to 25%
