Delaware North Catering Sales Manager, TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts

The Opportunity

Delaware North Sportservice is hiring for a Catering Sales Manager to join our team at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. As a Catering Sales Manager, you will partner with the Food and Beverage team to ensure all hospitality operations at TD Gardend run efficiently to create memorable experiences for guests.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $54600 - $73700 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a solicitation plan to include calls, emails, participation in industry events to generate new business

  • Attain goals related to sales, revenue, and solicitation of new business

  • Foster relationships with and serve as the primary contact for all assigned accounts/event leads

  • Work closely with internal entities and partners for the fulfillment of event orders

  • Execute the timely collection of deposits and final payments, working closing with the controller’s office to reduce/eliminate accounts receivable

  • Create and distribute Banquet Event Orders and event details in a timely manner

  • Prepare and present sales reports – outlining targets, projected/actual revenue, accounts receivable and more

  • Attend and participate in meetings and other functions, as required

  • Monitor and evaluate trends within hospitality and local markets

  • Adhere to Delaware North’s catering/meeting standards and related catering sales metrics

  • Assist with training, scheduling, and supervision of catering team members

  • Monitor customer service feedback to enhance standards of service

  • Assist with menu pricing strategies for optimizing cost and control

  • Collaborate with culinary team on custom menus and services

  • Develop/maintain a strong presence in local industry organizations, where possible

  • Additional duties as directed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years stadium/hotel/venue catering or event sales experience

  • Engaged sales professional with strong guest service, advanced selling, and negotiating skills

  • Operating knowledge of the hospitality industry – food preparation, inventory, and cost control measures

  • Excellent verbal communication and presentations skills

  • Impeccable attention to detail

  • Ability to analyze data and make decisions

  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative leader who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate warmth and empathy when engaging with others

  • Must be able to work non-traditional hours – including nights and weekend based on the event and arena schedule

  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook

  • Caterease experience preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. with constant bending and other repetitive motions

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time including outdoors in all weather
