Continental General Accounting Team Lead in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Philippines

On Jan 2024, Continental Automotive Business Services (CABS) Hub APAC joined GBS Manila. CABS Hub APAC (formerly known as Finance Service Center Philippines - FSCP), started on 2012. It provides end-to-end accounting services in APAC Region with workstreams: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Master Data Management, Cash Management, General Ledger, Statutory Reporting, and Process Excellence.
Financial Statement Accuracy/Data Integrity
▪ Manage data integrity and preparation of financial information to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness and accessibility
▪ Compliance and quality control review (i.e., preparation and review of account analysis/reconciliations, Journal entry review and approval and adherence to accounting policies and procedures)
• Work with local Finance contacts during GL close to ensure adequate completeness, accuracy, timeliness, accessibility and consistency to corporate policies and IFRS
• Implement and recommend financial and internal control procedures to ensure that company assets are adequately protected, in compliance with group reporting requirements and procedures, including but not limited to review of reconciliation of General ledger account
• Review and analyze current procedures in order to recommend and implement changes to standardize activities in accordance to Standard Process Model (SPM)and integrate into shared services
• Coordinate and monitor completion of both internal and external audits
Tax & Statutory Compliance
• Review and monitor that the companies comply with all legal and statutory requirements (for PH locations)
• Review and monitor operations follow tax ordinances (for PH locations)
• Stay up-to-date with tax laws and regulations
• Keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxes by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications
Cash Management
• Monitor the cashflow and liquidity of the entities
• Coordinate and propose to management should there be any funding requirement
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of execution of payment run
• Ensure correctness of bank balances by ensuring the team is performing regular bank reconciliation
• Review and analyze current procedures in order to recommend and implement changes to standardize activities and integrate into shared services
• Evaluate procurement practices to identify opportunities to reduce spend, improve the speed of execution, and improve overall customer satisfaction.
BS Accountancy graduate, preferably Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
8+ years work related experience
Experience in Auditing firm preferably
SAP expert in General ledger (FICO); knowledgeable in other SAP accounting modules (AR, AP, MM)
Excellent knowledge in IFRS and regulatory requirements
Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Knowledgeable in MS office
Preferably with experience in process improvements
Ability to reconcile complex accounts
Background in AR/AP/ICO preferred
At least 2 years supervisory/managerial experience in a BPO or shared service industry
Experience with working with international teams required
Advanced customer relationship and stakeholder management skills
