Summary The incumbent is a working leader for housekeeping operations in all areas of the sanitation section and linen distribution section at the North Texas VA Healthcare System. The primary purpose of the position is to Lead and perform hospital housekeeping duties. Responsibilities Duties are but not limited to: Leads Housekeeping Aids, Compensated Work Therapy (CWT) and Incentive Therapy (IT) workers within the facility. Lead employees in performing work while he/she performs the full range of housekeeping tasks required to maintain the Medical Center in an aesthetic and aseptic condition. Passes on instructions from the supervisor to the employees and checks work to verify the work was completed. Works with the employees, sets the pace, demonstrates methods and techniques, obtains supplies and equipment while answering questions and makings sure all tasks are complete and deadlines are met. Reports to the supervisor the status and progress of work, any infractions of policies and procedures, and assures safety rules are followed. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/03/2025. EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The incumbent must be physically able to do continuous walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, pushing, stretching, pulling, and lifting.
