Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness in the warehouse. This role involves counseling and supporting hourly employees, addressing performance behaviors, and engaging the workforce in problem-solving processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a customer service mindset, and the ability to motivate and discipline employees as necessary.
Responsibilities
Manage business objectives for the department, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness.
Counsel and support hourly employees with their needs and concerns.
Address performance behaviors by commending positive actions and disciplining negative ones.
Utilize Quality Network problem-solving processes to address opportunities within the area and engage the workforce for ideas.
Apply Workplace Organization (WPO) processes to improve layouts and efficiency.
Perform daily updates to the Timekeeping System (TKS) to ensure accurate payroll processing.
Use the A-3 reporting format to document problem-solving activities and follow local A-3 guidelines.
Conduct daily huddle-up meetings to communicate business performance and facilitate two-way discussions with employees.
Perform and document weekly safety observation tours of the department.
Plan daily workload in advance to optimize shift performance.
Support colleagues to enhance overall shift performance.
Observe and enforce contractual requirements (National & Local).
Enforce shop rules and perform daily SOP audit checks.
Advance skills through the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process.
Keep the General Supervisor and Shop Committee informed of all pending activities.
Essential Skills
Supervision and management skills
Experience in warehouse operations, logistics, shipping and receiving, inventory control, supply chain, and warehouse management
Ability to lead, motivate, and discipline employees
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent people skills with a customer service mindset
Work Environment
This is a two-shift operation with the following hours: 1st shift from 5:30 AM to 2 PM, 2nd shift from 2 PM to 11:30 PM, and a swing shift from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. The typical work week is Monday to Friday, with up to 5 hours of overtime expected each week.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $34.00/hr.
