GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:

Evaluates patient’s leisure lifestyle and provides goals and objectives directed at a therapeutically designed recreation/leisure oriented treatment which assists patients in attaining optimum level of functioning.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in working with the emotionally ill required

  • Psychiatric Inpatient experience preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational, Recreational, Activities Therapy, or related field required

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification and first aid certification required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Know, understand, incorporate, and demonstrate the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable)

  • Revenue Management: Ensure the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients

  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and provide clinical documentation

  • Assess patient’s leisure preferences, limitations, social and ADL (Activities of Daily Living) functional abilities

  • Utilize group and individual therapeutic, occupational, creative expressive or recreational techniques to obtain treatment goals

  • Develop standards for activities program based on recognized therapeutic interventions

  • Manage equipment and materials to support program
