JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Healthcare Sr. Quality Assurance (QA) Manager of the Quality Support Center (QSC) will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of Global GxP across our organization over the QSC. He/She will manage and support the development of Healthcare QA Staff in his/her department ensuring the right resources with the right expertise are in place to support the organization's quality initiatives. He/she will support field QA from different countries in managing their quality management system processes with the aim of leading to higher quality standards and improving overall performance. This will ensure that the organization will achieve greater efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability in quality processes on the shop floor. This role will assess and maintain the Quality Management System in alignment with GMP guidelines and ISO standards. He/She will play a pivotal role in ensuring our compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our quality processes. This position manages supervisors and specialist.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the development, implementation, and management of quality systems “how to” for the QSC, including document control, change control, deviation management, risk management, and Corrective and Preventive Actions.

  • Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and optimize resource allocation while maintaining the highest quality standards.

  • Monitors and provides direction to the team for compliance against UPS Healthcare site/ country regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP, GDP) to internal departments.

  • Implements and maintains the Training & Onboarding program. Ensures that initial and continued training programs are followed.

  • Coordinates the Change Control Management program by performing assessments and reporting on their status.

  • Manages Quality Management System reviews and supports with completion and follow-up on KPIs.

  • Interacts with (Senior) Healthcare QA Management and (Senior) Operations Management in different countries. Responds to next level escalation to quality related inquiries or concerns.

  • Ensures that the UPS Quality Management System standards aligns with regulatory requirements in applicable countries.

  • Coaches and trains the Team, communicate effectively, recognizes performance, and fosters diversity and teamwork.

  • Manages resources and people processes (e.g., Performance Management, Career Development, Training, Staffing, etc.) to ensure the day-to-day administration of processes and formal procedures.

  • Identifies individual and team skill gaps and developmental opportunities (e.g., training, special assignments, conferences, projects, etc.) to facilitate individual and team development.

  • Conducts frequent performance evaluations in a consistent, fair, and objective manner to facilitate open communication and encourage continuous performance improvement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor/master’s degree (or internationally comparable degree) – Science or related discipline - Scientist, Biologist, Chemist, Pharmaceutical chemist, etc.

  • Experience in the Healthcare Industry

  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience in healthcare industry in a (Quality) Management role - Preferred

  • Good knowledge of English (Fluent)

  • Portuguese is a plus.

  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing quality systems in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change, influence stakeholders, and foster a culture of quality and compliance.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong organization and time management skills. Flexible in working hours.

  • Knowledge of Quality Management System.
