Basic Job Functions:
The Maintenance Mechanical Tech will be responsible for, but not limited to supporting the NYS maintenance and production teams by troubleshooting, making repairs, and performing preventative maintenance over a given area of our mill. This includes interpretation of drawings and manuals for the repair and maintenance of complex equipment systems and machinery such as various bearing re-builds, valves, cylinders, conveyors, etc. The Maintenance Tech will use various pieces of equipment, such as forklifts, man lifts, etc. to safely operate during routine mechanical operations and/or expectations. The Maintenance Tech will also be expected to demonstrate safety-minded support of our entire maintenance team while seeking to provide world-class reliability for our customers. This position will be expected to work weekends, overtime, holidays, and cover shift as needed.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
Basic Maintenance mechanical/electrical knowledge
Minimum of 3 years steel mill experience OR 4 years industrial mechanical maintenance experience
