Element Materials Technology VP, Finance Aerospace and Energy in Blue Ash, Ohio

Overview

As a key member of the leadership team, the VP of Finance will report to the Chief Financial Officer, Americas and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The VP of Finance will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling the financial activities of the Aerospace and Energy Business Unit in the Americas. The VP of Finance will also help develop the long-term strategic financial planning for the Business Unit.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic business partner to the Aerospace & Energy leadership team.

  • Oversee the business unit’s annual financial planning and forecasting process and drive improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.

  • Support commercial growth initiatives in partnership with the business unit Vice President, Operations Directors, General Managers, and commercial team.

  • Provide leadership and direction in the ongoing development and implementation of policies, processes, and systems to build the infrastructure necessary to support a high-growth organization.

  • Lead all aspects of FP&A including financial planning and forecasting, strategic planning and decision making, P&L analysis, and reporting.

  • Ensure timely and accurate internal financial reporting and analysis.

  • Provide financial and operating metric reports that evaluate business performance.

  • Support M&A activity from due diligence through integration.

  • Manage all aspects of cash flow including operating working capital and capital spending.

  • Oversee capital spending budget process including front end financial analysis and post project audit.

  • Develop and implement strategies for organizational capability, talent development and succession planning within the A&E finance organization.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or similar field of study. MBA strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 15 years' progressive financial/accounting management responsibilities with at least 5 years' BU/division management/leadership experience.

  • Prior experience in the Aerospace, Space, Defence, Energy or similar end markets highly desired.

  • Executive presence with the ability to be hands-on/tactical when and where necessary.

  • Strategic financial leadership with the ability to effectively manage across all levels of a matrix organization.

  • A proven ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.

  • Ability to perform short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and profitability and variance analysis.

  • Exceptional analytical abilities and understanding of accounting and finance issues

  • Low ego, willing to be an individual contributor while leading a team.

  • Approximately 25% travel anticipated.
