Description We are looking for a Controller to join our team in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. This role is central to our operations in the telecom industry, where you will oversee the month-end close process, prepare financial statements, and provide direct supervision to ensure financial integrity.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Prepare financial statements and reports, detailing the company's financial status
• Supervise the accounting team to ensure all financial transactions are executed and documented in accordance with company policies
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
• Analyze financial data and create forecasts to assist with strategic planning
• Implement and monitor internal controls to protect company resources
• Review and approve budget proposals and financial planning models
• Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the company
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state financial regulations, and current accounting standards. Requirements • Minimum of three years of experience in a Controller or similar financial role
• Proven ability to manage month end close procedures
• Demonstrated competence in financial statement preparation
• Experience with direct supervision of a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in financial software and MS Office
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
• CPA or relevant certification is a plus
• High ethics and reliability
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
