Job Description
The Binding Site Group, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, is a global leader in specialty diagnostics and is seeking a highly motivated Senior Director, Site & Operations to join our team in Birmingham, UK. As a key member of the Operations Leadership Team, you will provide leadership in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, PPI, H&S, and Facilities at sites in the UK and the US. Your role as Site Leader will drive operational efficiency and effectiveness, elevating Operations performance to become a competitive advantage for the business. This role is site-based , at our Calthorpe Road site in Birmingham, UK, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day per week. Some international travel will be required, up to 25% per annum, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities:
Develop and establish operating mechanisms to improve customer experience and financial performance
Drive safety as the number one priority and foster employee engagement
Implement continuous improvement methodologies to drive productivity and quality
Ensure compliance with Quality System Guidelines and Regulations
Coordinate resource needs and assess project risks
Drive business performance through digital tools and data analysis
Collaborate with Operations LT colleagues to drive global alignment and excellence
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in a related field, preferably with equivalent experience
7-10 years of dynamic leadership experience in Pharmaceutical/Medical Device Manufacturing Operations, preferably including other Operations functions (e.g. sourcing, supply chain, quality
In-depth experience of the IVD/Diagnostics industry
Larger/multi-site site leadership experience
Experience in continuous improvement and working in a regulated industry
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Confidence and assertiveness, balanced with emotional intelligence; a selfless teammate and a servant leader, who is willing to roll their sleeves up to get the work done, whatever the task
Able to influence others via data, good communications skills, and good people skills. Approachable, with the ability to work with people at all levels in a global organization. Has unquestioned integrity, honesty, and a good sense of humor
Advanced level of English
