Guthrie Operating Room Tech I - Operating Room - Full Time in Binghamton, New York
Rotating shift, 24 hours of on call per month
Position Summary: The Operating Room Technician I, will aid the Operating Room team members prior, during, and after surgical procedures. The main functions of this position will include transporting patients/specimens; obtaining supplies/laboratory products; and maintaining a clean environment within the department. Education, License & Cert: High School Education or GED required. Certified in Basic CPR within 6 months of hire Experience: No experience required. Essential Functions: 1. Transporting patients and lab products/specimens to and from the Operating Room (OR). 2. Protects patient privacy and modesty; is authorized to access secured storage areas in the performance of essential job functions and duties. 3. OR equipment/supplies transportation; transports specimens, cafeteria supplies, blood, and other items as assigned 4. Maintaining supplies and equipment Is authorized to access secured storage areas in the performance of essential job functions and duties. 5. Restock warmers with solutions and blankets, stock forms and count sheets, etc. 6. Assists with the orientation of new employees. 7. Responsible for accurate and clear communication to other members of the health care a. team when giving reports. 8. Uses the appropriate chemicals, supplies, or equipment when needed a. Decontaminate operating room after surgical cases b. Maintains an acceptable level of cleanliness for all anesthesia and OR equipment Other Duties: 1. Demonstrates initiative in completing work that needs to be done, within areas of responsibility. 2. Recognizes and reports potential problems to the supervisor or nursing manager on the floor.
Pay Range $16.00-$22.37/hr
