Montana State University Billings is a preferred employer in the region-WE WANT YOU!The following are reasons why you should join our team•Work-life balance•Opportunities for career growth and a variety of career paths•Campus vibrancy- coffee shops, FREE attendance to MSUB concerts, athletic events, and lectures, access to recreation center, library, etc.•Beautiful campus environment that features our MSUB Mile walking pathThe Clinical Resource Registered Nurse is a Registered Nurse responsible for the educational interventions and in the instruction of learning within the clinical settings and community used for clinical education of nursing students.Qualifications: •Current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the State of Montana. •Two calendar years of full-time employment or the equivalent in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse prior to employment of MSU Billings City College Nursing Program. •Ability to coordinate educational experiences with nursing staff personnel. •Ability to express ideas effectively in oral and written form. •Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. •Knowledge of health care agencies/hospitals organization and functions of departments, policies, regulations and procedures. •Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of the professional nursing education program and the quality of instruction, along with the ability to recommend and institute changes to improve the overall quality of nursing education at MSU Billings City College Nursing Program. Supervision Received: Each CRRN is assigned to an MSN faculty instructor who is responsible for all students in the clinical setting and:•Assuring that assigned duties are appropriate to the CRRN scope of responsibilities; •Ensuring safe, accessible, and appropriate supervision based on client health status, care setting, course objectives, and student level of participation; •The lecture, clinical, and laboratory portions of a course, including actively teaching in the course for which the clinical experience is assigned; and •Performing the summative clinical evaluation based on individual course objectives and student clinical performance. Responsibilities: •Instruct student nurses in the theoretical and clinical aspects of the practice of nursing. •Instruct students and facilitate discussions about accepted methods of nursing practice including professional aspects of nursing, theories of physiology and psychodynamics, assessment of functional health patterns, nursing interventions, medical, surgical and allied health treatments (such as observing and recording symptoms and applying principles of asepsis and antisepsis, etc.). •Interact and collaborate with nursing service personnel to enhance learning experience in nursing unit or community; assign students to patients and observe performance in actual nursing situations. •Administer and grade clinical paperwork to determine student performance and achievement; maintain necessary records to document student progress. •Assist students through observational and participative experiences to apply nursing theory, the nursing process and nursing techniques in clinical settings. •Counsel students on education and related problems; facilitate problem solving process; offer advice and assistance as deemed necessary. •Make recommendations to Director of Nursing and faculty in developing curriculum content and improved teaching and nursing techniques. •Discuss instructional or related matters with Director of Nursing and supervising faculty; strive continuously to improve quality of student instruction. •Attend professional workshops, conferences and other educational meetings to promote growth, broaden the knowledge and skills of the faculty and to improve the quality of nursing education. •Assist in the preparation of reports required by national and state accrediting agencies. •Participate in quality improvement activities both in the school and the clinical facility. •Perform related work as required.
