Job Summary

This position is a direct report to the Applications Group Products Supervisor. Business Analyst is responsible for business systems, related fields, and how they align with user needs. Documents requirements, establishes scope, objectives and determines strategy for implementing systems related fields to achieve business goals including: gathering and prioritizing customer requirements and working closely with business functions to ensure customer satisfaction goals are met.

This role works closely with the Principle Technical Product Consultant to assess SAP operations and perform business analyses, to improve processes and systems. The successful SAP Business Analyst for this role exhibits an in-depth knowledge business analysis to evaluate data to inform business decisions and conduct research and analysis to find solutions to meet business needs. This includes monitoring and implementing related security measures among other duties.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Own functional specifications and serve as a functional expert with a deep understanding of business needs on product capabilities by defining business requirements, performing quality assurance & define reporting and alerting requirements. Own and develop day to day relationship with partners, working with them to optimize and enhance integration as well as establish a deep understanding of our customers’ business and functional needs. Provide product expertise in regards to functional needs and processes

• Liaison between the IT department and the Finance, A/P and Procurement business partners to provide required support and analysis.

• Assess business needs via business process analysis, collaboration, and observation.

• Determine how to integrate SAP software programs/products and tools to enhance targeted business processes.

• Evaluate IT infrastructure and capabilities, and facilitate cost-effective improvements.

• Configure SAP solutions to ensure smooth system integration, with tools and enhanced functionalities, and user-friendly interfaces.

• Align and support with strategic direction of broader IT organization. Contribute to the strategic vision/plans and identify product enhancements that improve customer experience and simplify current landscape

o Collaborate across the IT team to gain/offer technical solutions and resolve issues.

o Provide SAP business partners basic training and support as needed.

o Document SAP processes and prepare progress reports.

o Ensure compliance with Company and industry regulations and guidelines

o Keep informed of the latest SAP updates, developments, and offerings.

• Facilitate and coordinate external benchmarking/best practice efforts and relationships with other business organizations

o Understand both Long Island IT and the overall business strategy (Finance/AP and Procurement) to monitor and plan for growth.

o Produce reports as needed.

o Run ongoing tests, analyze data, and report findings.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or a related technical field

• A minimum of 4 years of business or related field analysis experience with proven experience on medium - large sized, simple & complex projects by documenting requirements, establishing scope, objectives and determining strategy for testing & implementing systems related fields to achieve business goals including: gathering and prioritizing customer requirements and working closely with business functions to ensure customer satisfaction goals are met

• 2+ years proven experience working with project teams to determine implementation strategy

• 1+ years proven experience with developing testing strategy for large complex projects

• Must possess demonstrated leadership skills

• Must demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently on technical issues and utilize a broad knowledge of business analysis, acquired through progressive experience

• Must be able to work and effectively communicate with a wide range of people – peers, vendors, staff members, broader functional and business leadership, and others

• Must demonstrate the ability to proactively communicate technical topics in a clear, succinct, and relevant way

• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with external constituent groups and customers

• Solid knowledge of relevant business processes and their integration with SAP systems

• In-depth knowledge of the latest advancements in SAP applications

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Advanced degree, e.g. Masters of Information Technology

• Experience in a team lead role through projects and other work planning experiences

• Strong leadership and influence skills
