Philips Software Engineer - MRI (C++) in Best, Netherlands

In the Research & Development department in MRI, you will join a global team of software and hardware engineers developing the next generation of MRI scanners. As part of a global team you will bring new innovations in the market by delivering product quality software and documentation. As a software engineer Device Control Layer (DCL) you will join a team of 20 highly engaged software engineers. Your job is to develop the real-time software to control the MRI scanner hardware, and build the diagnostic tooling for testing and problem solving. This includes extension and optimization of the existing Philips MR software.

Your role:

  • You will be responsible for design, implementation and test of real time embedded software for hardware components within MR systems.

  • You will be responsible to collect, define, and write requirement- and test specifications, based upon higher level system requirements, stakeholder input and system design specifications.

  • Seek ways to improve products and procedures with respect to testability, extendibility, and re-use.

  • Design and implement software that is efficient, clean and easy to test using C++ and object orient design patterns.

  • Work in a multidisciplinary environment collaborating with hardware, service engineers and factory.

You're the right fit if:

  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (Embedded Systems, Informatics, Computer Science, Electronics).

  • You have experience with C++ and objected oriented software development. Experience with modern C++ (C++11, C++14) is a plus.

  • You have a knowledge of real time systems (VxWorks), SW control of HW devices & signal and image processing.

  • 3+ years of full lifecycle software development experience.

  • You have outstanding communication skills, are highly motivated and a good team player.
