The InfoSec Human-Centric Cybersecurity (HCC) team is looking for an Instructional Designer with a background in educational psychology to help us influence the way people operate using creative content to positively change human behavior, reduce the risk landscape, and instill a cybersecurity mindset. The ideal candidate will:

  • Raise the bar continually for creating content that connects with a target audience and drives engagement and action utilizing key theories and practices from the areas of education, applied psychology, and communication.

  • Be proficient in eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Elucidat).

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and principles applicable to computer-based learning (CBL) and Instructor-Led training (ILT).

  • Be familiar with business requirements gathering and assessment, competitive analysis, and secondary research.

  • Possess a strong tendency towards visual thinking - using techniques like storyboards and sketching - to communicate interaction design concepts.

  • Have stellar interaction skills (history of deploying user interface standards and conventions, functional communication flows, dynamic engaging interfaces).

  • Be meticulous, think critically, and provide simple and creative solutions to complex problems while accounting for technical and business constraints.

  • Possess excellent time management skills and ability to adapt to the ever-changing priorities of the business. Work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing accuracy and quality.

  • Maintain a constant drive to stay current with the latest industry news and developments.

  • Have excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Have an inclusive design philosophy with a strong editorial sense. You gather feedback judiciously, know when to adjust your designs, and know when to follow your initial vision.

  • Have a passion for well-written, informative, and easy-to-grasp instructional text.

What You Will do:

  • Partner with subject matter experts to develop technical content and mold into a format that is optimal for learning, retention, and action (behavioral change); curate and arrange live, recorded, and self-paced training courses leveraging psychology concepts.

  • Create content that effectively describes and promotes the team's vision and mission - including computer-based training (CBT), instructor-led training (ILT), awareness campaign plans/tactics, surveys, efficacy measures, or other content to be used across multiple channels to drive desired action.

  • Create content and storyboards for internal training and awareness content.

  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product.

  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.

  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods to drive behavioral change (including exercises and activities).

  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.)

  • Define criteria used to judge requirements to drive behavioral change across target audiences.

  • Assist in the development of awareness campaigns and content with an eye toward engagement and driving behavioral change.

  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive material.

  • Additional content and administrative/coordination work as required.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in educational psychology, Instructional Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience (UX), or related field, and three years of experience OR master's degree and two years of experience.

  • Proficient understanding of educational psychology

  • Proficient in Articulate 360, Elucidat, SharePoint, HTML/CSS.

  • Desire to learn or have experience in cybersecurity/information technology field.

  • Keen eye for detail, spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills along with creative sensibility.

  • Visual design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard,

  • Ability to write brief, persuasive, on-task copy, instructional text, audio/video scripts that keeps users engaged, reduces errors and confusion, and drives action (e.g., behavioral change).

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and how to write for screen readers.

  • Ability to manage tasks independently and work in a team environment.

  • Writing and editing experience in AP Style. Must be able to provide content samples.

  • Excellent calendar management and project management skills, including the coordination of complex meetings and scheduling across internal and external contacts/locations.

  • Thorough proof-reading and editing skills.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
