Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

We’re looking for a Software Development Manager with expertise and passion in establishing teams, coaching individuals, and solving difficult problems in the Cost Management space. You and your team will develop customer facing features by analyzing, fixing, and designing vital Oracle Cloud services that are reliable, scalable, resilient, secure, and performant. You will focus on engineering improvements to the systems that will eliminate whole classes of issues.

Responsibilities

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. You will also build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Specifically you will be responsible for building and maintaining some of the customer facing features in the Cost Management space. Customers will interact with these features to understand their spending patterns, projected spending, potential environmental impact of their spending, etc. You will also manage infrastructure for the features. You will understand and be able to communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service(s)/feature(s) you own. You will build instrumentation and metrics to monitor service behavior. You will engage with and present to a wide variety of audiences, ranging from individual contributors and teams to senior leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree or relevant experience in Computer Science or related technical field

  • 6+ years of Software Engineer experience.

  • 1+ years' experience of leading or developing a team of software engineers building

  • Hands-on ability to Architect, design, and development & implementation of features

  • Experience with C/C++, Java, or Python.

  • Resolving customer issues and handling partner concerns.

  • Understanding of service metrics, alarms, logging, and system health

  • Experience working in an operational environment with critically important tier-one services with associated oncall responsibilities.

  • Experience with mentoring and growing engineers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Cost Management Space

  • 10+ yrs experience as a Software Engineer

  • 3+ yrs experience with people management
