Job Description

As a certification program manager for SaaS, PaaS, Database, Java, MySQL, etc, you will facilitate and monitor the end-to-end exam development process, conduct continuous exams reviews and exam questions health checks, publish/republish examinations, liaise with geographically distributed product and training teams for continuous enhancements/upgrading in exam questions pools, solve customer escalations, and manage infringement investigations.

Primary Focus

As a Certifications Program Manager for SaaS, PaaS, Database, Java, MySQL, etc., you will:

  • Facilitate and monitor the end-to-end exam development and delivery process

  • Assess exam efficacy by reviewing exam questions and conducting health checks

  • Curate practice exams and help build them

  • Publish/republish exams

  • Liaise with geographically distributed product and training teams for continuous enhancements/upgrade to question pools, solve customer escalations, and manage infringement investigations

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all aspects of high-impact Certifications projects from start to finish in close collaboration with engineering, training, and curriculum teams

  • Perform scope definition, job task analysis (JTA), and exam blueprint design

  • Train SMEs on Oracle style guidelines and exam development best practices

  • Set up and deploy Hands-on Performance based exams (HPEs) to create an immersive exam experience

  • Facilitate editorial reviews, technical reviews, and Angoff meetings for score setting

  • Monitor exam performance metrics such as trends, # of deliveries, pass rates, # of retakes, etc.

  • Conduct exam maintenance health check and gap analysis to improve exam efficacy

  • Implement Certification industry standards and best practices in exam deliverables

  • Engage globally with international teams and understand their specific requirements (localization, Japan business model) and business priorities around exam development and delivery

  • Collaborate to resolve escalated Service Requests

  • Collaborate on security issues and infringement investigations

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest versions and new features of Oracle products

  • Build a strong technical understanding of the product line to effectively engage with consultants, engineering teams, subject matter experts (SMEs), and instructors

  • Training and Instructional Design background

  • Understanding of Bloom's Taxonomy

  • Experience in conducting Job Task Analysis

  • Experience in the Certification industry

  • Understanding of Certification development standards and models

  • Experience in designing and developing exams

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Understanding of what it takes to produce candidate value in an exam

  • Professionalism and confidence to defend exams, processes, and exam content

  • Professional Project Management skills

  • Strong customer orientation

  • Ability to make decisions independently

  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills

  • Excellent leadership and proven people skills

  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently with limited direction

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with geographically distributed stakeholders

  • Ability to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to write/evaluate technically sound and relevant Certification exam items that validate the skills of specific job roles

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3+ years of experience in exam development and facilitation of exam development workshops for Certification

  • Knowledge of Certification standards and best practices

  • Additional Qualifications

  • Oracle Certifications at the Oracle Certified Professional level

  • Previous experience with Certification exams as an SME

  • Technical writing and editing experience
