Google Android Security Operations Manager, Android Security Assurance in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of experience with security in attacks and mitigation methods.

  • 1 year of experience with Java, C, or C++.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Experience in vulnerability discovery and analysis, design auditing, and code-level security auditing.

There's no such thing as a "safe system" - only safer systems. Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. As a Security Engineer, you help protect network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information. Security Engineers work directly with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. You also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

You use your industry experience to own and drive the resolution of complex security incidents, policy questions and technical security issues.

Android Security Assurance is a cross-functional team under Android Security tasked with ensuring that Android is a secure and defended operating system. In this role, you will work with partners inside of Android such as Android Security, Android development teams, Android Partner Engineering, Android Release, legal, partners outside of Android, and more.

  • Be responsible for ensuring on-time execution of work critical to secure the Android ecosystem, provide transparency to and enable Android and industry partners to identify, review, fix, and publish vulnerabilities in a timely manner. This includes ensure smooth operations across Android’s vulnerability reward program, vulnerability management program, and security release program, with opportunities to expand into work across other functions such as incident response and more.

  • Provide technical leadership, coaching and growing team members, managing performance and fostering career development.

  • Identify, scope, and navigate problems, influencing direction of the team and effectively and equitably managing resource allocations.

  • Ensure team executes on some of Android’s most critical security programs, including: the Android Vulnerability Reward Program, Vulnerability Management Program, and release of the Android Security Bulletin.
