Primary Purpose

The ADA Test Coordinator will assist Disability Services and coordinate with faculty and students concerning ADA test preparation and implementation, while upholding policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Test Coordination:

  • Monitor and resolve discrepancies in accommodation/proctoring/student information.

  • Provide test security, proctor, and assure accessible formatting when delivering exams.

  • Collect, monitor, and reconcile all forms, files, and emails throughout the ADA test request and completion process.

  • Ensure the functionality of applicable technology as required for accessible testing.

Communications and Collaboration:

  • Provide and manage follow up communication with faculty, students and relevant departments on ADA test preparation process, reconciliation needs, and documentations of the process.

  • Assist students with scheduling accommodated testing appointments.

  • Assist faculty in completion of accommodated testing forms and test file delivery as directed by Disability Services in ADA testing protocols.

General Functions:

  • Comply with all applicable legal requirements relating to the activities of contracted and ADA related testing.

  • Perform all required functions of the position using the Disability Services computer system.

  • As directed by department staff, format instructional content to ensure accessibility per accommodation needs.

  • Monitor and maintain student confidentiality.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the duties and responsibilities of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. The individual is expected to follow College work rules and policies.

  • Ability to follow explicit directives of section 504 of the ADA and clarify points with Disability Services.

  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot software currently in use within Testing and/or Disability Services for accommodated students on a recurrent basis.

  • Ability to secure and track high-stakes testing materials.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision within a team environment.

  • Ability to take direction and complete trainings in a variety of methods including verbal, written, and shadowing the SSD team, and apply learned knowledge to position that adheres to expected guidelines and parameters.

  • Ability to stay current with testing software updates and instruct students, faculty, and fellow test proctors with regard to testing procedures.

  • Knowledge of and skills in Windows computer environment and MS Office, and ability to learn internal database systems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English language with or without the use of an interpreter.

  • Knowledge of and ability to operate general office equipment (copier, fax machine, scanner, phones).

  • Ability to work cooperatively with, and contribute to, a diverse workplace.

    Ergonomic Requirements

Regular office hours are established between 8 am – 5 pm during the workweek. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities.

Incumbent must be able to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature. Requires the ability to work at a workstation for extended periods. Requires to write, read written materials and computer screens, and ability to use telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting up to 25lbs. All individuals are required to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Associate’s degree or completion of equivalent college-level coursework.

Experience:

  • Two years of work experience training and supporting others in how to use software and delivering customer service in a team environment that requires confidentiality and accountability.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s ’s degree.

Experience:

  • Experience working with computer-based testing programs.

  • Experience working with ADA compliance in an education or professional setting.

  • Experience working in a community college or university environment.
