Summary of Position
We are seeking an AV Streaming Technician to provide audio-visual and streaming support at North America training events, both public and private. This candidate must have a strong audio-video background and be technically proficient in related hardware and software. The AV Streaming Technician is responsible for all aspects of the audio-visual experience at events and ensures equipment is maintained well.
Key Responsibilties
Unload, unpack, set up, test, operate, pack, and load audio-visual and streaming equipment required to execute North America Live Training Events
Collaborate in a hybrid team environment during production, at the warehouse, and during virtual and in-person meetings as requested by NALT leadership and operations teams
Follow production schedule to install and test classroom technologies for breakout rooms and general sessions,, including electrical power, screens, projectors, document cameras, speakers, microphones, cameras, mixers, confidence monitors, broadcasting equipment, truss rigs, pipe and drape, and lighting
Work closely with the AV Streaming Lead, on-site operations teams, and NALT leadership to ensure that events are executed to standard, all on-site audio-visual requests are met, and any technical issues are addressed or escalated
Demonstrate and follow safe work practices at live training events and at the warehouse
Ensure streaming broadcasts are brought online at required times each day
Monitor and review broadcast streams for audio-video quality and troubleshoot issues as a team with the lead and other technicians on-site
Ensure prompt reporting to show floor according to event staffing schedule
Demonstrate professional behavior in communications and presentation, including customer-facing and third-party interactions
Ensure all equipment is maintained properly, including how equipment is packed for shipment at the conclusion of an event
Assist in any other duties, including warehouse support, deemed reasonable and necessary by management
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years of hands-on audio-visual and streaming production experience
Ability to travel to and from locations within North America
Proficient with audio-video cabling, related hardware, and best practices, including recording and streaming devices, microphones and receivers, mixer boards, audio-video splitters or converters, and projectors
Proficient with Microsoft and Apple operating systems
Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products
Experience with audio-video software and best practices, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Epiphan Cloud, and AnyDesk
Ability to demonstrate and follow safe work practices at events and at the warehouse
Basic understanding of electrical circuits as it applies to maintaining safe working loads on building infrastructure
Experience with physical labor
Ability to load and unload gear from trucks, push wheeled cases, and lift at least 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2- or 4-year college degree or equivalent
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the AV Streaming Manager and has no direct reports.
Work Environment
100% travel to SANS events, consisting of 7-11 consecutive days or shorter including some weekend, holiday, and evening hours.
An average of 9 days per event (7 days of production, 2 days for travel) @ 8 hours/day averaged over the week.
Domestic travel expected 6-8 times/year in varying time zones.

The hourly rate for this position is $35/hour. Hourly rates may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and years of experience. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
