JOB REQUIREMENTS: The City of Beloit has an exciting employment opportunity as a Project Manager in the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for the planning, design, construction, inspection, and preparation of plans and specifications and administration for a variety of projects including park facilities, public building improvements, transit projects, residential housing rehabilitation and construction, and other public works projects as needed. The position of Project Manager requires considerable judgment, initiative, and professional knowledge and responsibility for making technical decisions on building construction and civil engineering problems and plans. This position provides technical support to the Community Development Department for housing rehabilitation and demolition projects. The Project Manager reports to the City Engineer, generally, and the Deputy Director of Community Development for specific assignments. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 1. A valid driver\'s license with a satisfactory driving record or otherwise meet the transportation requirements of the position. 2. Bachelor\'s Degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related field. 3. Five (5) years of experience in the design and/or construction of commercial or government public works and/or building projects. 4. Must possess or be able to obtain the following certifications within one year of hire: State of Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code (UDC) Construction Inspector, Housing Quality Standards (HQS) Inspector, and Lead Hazard Investigator. 5. Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered.
