Accord Corp Maintenance Technician in Belmont, New York
Job Title: Maintenance Technician Division: Business and Community Development Reports To: Director of Business and Community Development Pay Range:$16.87-$26.71 Hours of Work: 35 hours/week, generally Monday-Fridays, 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., with some evening/weekend work required. Job Overview: The position supports the agency by assuring that the housing and facilities maintenance objectives are met by performing routine and emergency repairs, conducting inspections, and by ensuring that tenants have access to decent, safe, sanitary, and affordable housing. Serves as an active member of the ACCORD team by supporting ACCORD objectives. Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties: Performs routine and emergency maintenance repairs by responding to maintenance requests, completing repairs, and communicating progress with tenants and supervisor. Performs routine custodial work by cleaning, maintaining grounds, painting, and replacing defective fixtures. Coordinates annual inspections of property systems (ie. heating and cooling, septic, etc.) to ensure efficient and safe operations. Ensures that all shut off valves and circuit breakers are labeled. Assures compliance with program funding sources by knowing existing and new requirements, enforcing subcontractor adherence to requirements, preparing and submitting required documents and reports, and planning needed actions. Completes unit inspections and required paperwork for housing department to assure decent, safe, and sanitary housing conditions. Maintains and implements professional and technical knowledge by attending training, establishing professional networks, and documenting training attendance. Promotes a positive agency image and credibility by adhering to our code of conduct. Assures effective risk management practices by identifying and reporting potential safety, ethical, and legal concerns. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing program goals and completing other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Technical certifications in maintenance/repair trade or high school diploma and one-year relevant experience. License Requirements: Current, valid drivers license and clean driving record. Experience: One years experience in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Environment & Physical Demands: This position may require the following physical demands and exposures: The employee may require engaging in talking, carrying objects, grasping, using manual dexterity, seeing peripherally, sitting, listening, seeing near and far, and general lifting.
