Amazon Sr. Program Manager, Workplace Health and Safety Strategy in Bellevue, Washington
Description
Worldwide Health and Safety (WHS) is hiring a Sr. Program Manager for the WHS Strategy team. WHS owns measuring, reporting and improving on the health and safety of over 1.2 million operations employees across Amazon. The WHS strategy team works across Amazon to develop cohesive strategies and share executive reporting on our health and safety performance as a company. WHS is looking for a strategic thinker with strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational ability to fill this position.
A strong candidate should have experience and interest in:
Being a key leader in improving health and safety at Amazon.
Leading large, cross-functional planning and strategy workstreams.
Thinking big about operational strategies and regularly presenting to VP level leaders. This leader will own multiple monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews with leadership covering strategic level topics.
Improving internal practices for sharing and visualizing data.
Driving execution to published plans across multiple business groups.
Managing planning calendars.
Responsibilities include developing 1-5 year plans for WHS, publishing strategic planning documents including OP plans, creating regular Steam and board level reporting, and partnering with operations, engineering, and tech teams to refine and prioritize healthy and safety within their strategic plans.
About the team:
The Workplace Health and Safety Strategy team builds and manages mechanisms for WHS to compile, create, and refine our strategies and strategic planning and reporting documents that represent WHS at the highest levels of leadership. We are the PM group that develops most WHS executive level documents and the PM wing for executive level data/reporting. We are a highly visible team and a trusted central point of contact for a large number of executive level stakeholders globally.

Key job responsibilities
The WHS Strategy team:
• Organizes and compiles our strategic planning reports across the WHS stakeholder group and ensuring consistency in safety data and narrative across Amazon.
• Interfaces with field WHS teams, central WHS teams, and Operations groups that want to align on safety planning and content for their strategic plans as well.
• Gathers and organizes inputs on safety from across Amazon.
• Manages data lock dates and provides consistent data, validating data across deliverables.
• Insists on the highest standards by ensuring data and content continuity amongst leadership documents, dashboards, and safety communications.
• Is relentlessly curious to understand safety performance and provide insights to leadership and stakeholders.
• Dives deep by regularly reviewing metrics and proactively seeking out new and improved data/mechanisms.
• Owns the continuous improvement of safety metric reporting and document development.
• Invents and simplifies to alleviate stakeholder and leadership pain points while improving reporting quality and accuracy.
• Is right a lot and thinks critically through problems to devise an action plan and advise senior leaders.
• Emphasizes the importance of concise and effective written communication.
• Is always data driven.
• Work from the office a minimum of five days per week and may travel 10-15% of the time.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of program or project management experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of driving process improvements experience
Master's degree

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
