Details are as follows: JOB DUTIES: Develop software product initiatives and run them to completion with minimal supervision. Write technical specs that define new systems or expand existing ones. Review technical specs and from peer engineers and ensure that they are in line with the team's technical vision. Articulate the vision to engineers on the team and prospective engineering candidates as part of the interview process. Identify and document cross-team initiatives and project dependencies to achieve the team's vision. Design flexible, maintainable code. Design and implement rules engines that leverage multiple dimensions to power workflow. Model the world of freight and cargo, enabling the business to sell products at scale with zero human input. Design competent, scalable data model that represents the areas of cargo, customs, pricing and inventory management. Distill business problems into technical solutions by working closely with business partners and product managers. Gather requirements and review product specifications to better understand the business workflows that need to be automated. Review the UX designs prepared to make sure that the workflows are well represented in the UX. Outline high level solution by writing technical spec that describes how the proposed software will solve the business problems. Document granular work breakdown of the project and come up with timeline and roadmap of solution delivery. Build scalable programs that standardize information flow and increase operational capacity. Write code that peer engineers can reference as a standard for the team. Ensure compliance with software industry best practices to improve team monitoring, solve and prevent bugs, and ensure a 99.99% uptime SLA. Provide regular, concrete technical feedback in code reviews for relatively junior engineers on the team. Identify and build backend components that can be leveraged by other developers to power their systems. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biotechnology, Mathematics, or related discipline, or foreign equivalent, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related position.                WORKSITE: 3255 160th Avenue Southeast, Building 10, Bellevue, WA 98008 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  Experience must include three (3) years of experience in each of the following: •              Programming in SQL and one or more of the following languages: C/C++, C#, Java, or Python. •              Machine Learning, Natural Language Understanding, Computer Vision, Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence, Convex Optimization, or Data Engineering. •              Developing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining ML solutions in a cloud-based environment. •              Communicating with business stakeholders to understand requirements, and present findings and recommendations that demonstrate value. •              Distributed computing and large-scale software systems design. RATE OF PAY: The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training.
