Amazon Software Development Manager, FBA Reimbursement Tech in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) leverages Amazon's global fulfillment and customer service network for third party sellers who want to grow their business on and off Amazon.com. FBA enables customers to take advantage of Free Super Saver Shipping and Amazon Prime on third party items, while allowing sellers to focus on selling rather than shipping. The FBA Reimbursement team solves interesting, real-world challenges across the supply chain. We own various FBA reimbursement management software and defect detection and correction systems. The systems serve hundreds of thousands FBA sellers across the world and are pivotal to supporting FBA business expansion and earning seller trust.

About you:

You are a experienced development leader to lead a team of software development engineers. You work closely with product management and other business partners to define strategy and requirements, and lead development teams from concept through delivery and subsequent operation. You have regular communication with senior management on status, risks and product strategy. You have excellent listening, writing skills and very technical competency. You're a thought leader, but you don't just know how to solve the problem, you prove it by leading team to build the solution. Last but not the least; you have a high bar for code quality and passion for design and architecture.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 5+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • 6+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
